A disgraceful fan threw a coin at Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen in wake of his side’s loss to the Netherlands on Saturday night.
Eriksen made his fairytale return to the Danish National Team, having not featured for his country since suffering a cardiac arrest in their opening group game of Euro 2020.
He’s not just there to make up the numbers, either, with Eriksen having netted a gorgeous goal at the start of the second half to formally announce his return to the international stage.
We have all been inspired by Eriksen’s story and his remarkable will, but there was one spectator in attendance who soured the mood by throwing a coin at the Brentford midfielder.
Watch below, with the coin thankfully not causing Eriksen any lasting damage as he was interviewed after the full-time whistle. The person responsible ought to be banned for life.
