Roman Abramovich hatches Chelsea transfer masterplan involving Lukaku and Haaland

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly prepared to offer Romelu Lukaku an escape route from Stamford Bridge.

Lukaku only re-signed for Chelsea over the summer, with Thomas Tuchel’s side forking out a club-record £97m to get the Belgian forward through the door.

Merely a few months down the line, he was revealing his discontent at Chelsea and desire to return to Inter Milan in a controversial interview with Sky Italia.

While the dust has now seemingly settled on the situation surrounding Lukaku in West London, there is still lingering doubts over his long-term future with the club.

According to El Nacional, Paris Saint-Germain could look to exploit the situation in the summer of this year, with the French giants preparing a mega-offer.

The report claims that Roman Abramovich is considering selling Lukaku to the Parisiens in order to raise funds for his pursuit of Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland.

While you have to deem Lukaku’s exit as highly improbable at this point in time, PSG are one of few clubs with the financial firepower to free him from Chelsea.

It would be naive to completely rule out the possibility of him playing in the French capital next season. Whether that would see Chelsea sign Haaland is another matter entirely…
