Canelo Alvarez set to pen exciting $85m+ two-fight deal with Matchroom

Canelo Alvarez is reportedly close to agreeing a new two-fight deal with Eddie Hearn and Matchroom Boxing.

Canelo is arguably the number one pound-for-pound fighter on the planet at current. His extraordinary run of beating the best and dethroning champions is showing absolutely no signs of stopping.

The Mexican, according to a report from ESPN, is now close to agreeing a new two-fight deal with Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn to stage two bumper bouts which will fill up the bank accounts of them both – even further.

As per the report, the idea is for Canelo to take on WBA Light Heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol before FINALLY staging the long-awaited, much-desired trilogy bout with Gennadiy Golovkin.

ESPN claim that the proposed deal would be worth in excess of $85m, which would further establish Canelo as the current PPV king of the sport of boxing. Eddie Hearn would no doubt argue that he is the promotional equivalent.
