Kell Brook addresses suggestion he could retire from boxing after Amir Khan triumph

Kell Brook has confirmed that he will NOT be retiring from boxing after his victory over rival Amir Khan.

Khan vs Brook was sold as a close fight between two of the finest British boxers of their generation. However, when the pair met in the ring, Brook was a class above his long-term rival.

While defeat will likely spell the end to Khan’s glittering boxing career, you wondered whether Brook could see it as the perfect opportunity to bow out.

Clearly, the manner in which he performed last Saturday has convinced him that he has enough left in the tank to carry on fighting, as Brook has confirmed he’s not finished yet.

Quoted by the Daily Mail, he said: “I’m a fighter, I love to fight, I didn’t have a mark on me in that last fight.

What Brook chooses to do next is down to him. He has multiple options on the table, with the likes of Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn already having called him out.

Of course, continuing is a risk, but based on the version of Kell Brook we saw in action a week ago, retiring would be a huge waste of the ability that still remains.
