Jack Catterall breaks silence after being robbed of victory vs Josh Taylor

Jack Catterall took to Twitter to break his silence after being robbed of the night of his life against Josh Taylor.

Taylor was defending his WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO belts for the very first time, on home turf, and was expected to record a convincing victory, even if Catterall is a tricky customer with a (previously) undefeated record.

However, he was taught a lesson by Catterall in the ring, with the Englishman having knocked him down and won the vast majority of the rounds – at least that’s how everyone other than the judges scored it.

Taylor was given a split-decision victory after the final bell in what has to be one of the biggest robberies the sport has seen in the modern era, and we’ve seen a fair few dodgy points decisions over the years.

Catterall stormed out of the ring – which you definitely can’t blame him for. He later sent out the following tweet.

Fighters spend their lives training for moments like this and put their health on the line every time they step into the boxing ring. They don’t do it to have what is rightfully theirs stolen by three crooked judges.

Something needs to change – and we hope this fight could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
