According to Gazzetta dello Sport Andrea Pirlo is considering bringing in 38-year-old former Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella back to the club as he looks to improve his attacking options.

Quagliarella – who currently plays for Sampdoria – played for Juve between 2010-2014, making 84 Serie A appearances and scoring 23 goals.

It is believed Pirlo has contacted the player to see if a return to the Allianz Stadium would be on the cards after his contract expires in Genoa.

Quagliarella is no stranger to goalscoring in his old age as he equalled Gabriel Batistuta’s all-time record of scoring in 11 consecutive Serie A matches in a single season when he was 35-years-old –  a record held by Batistuta since 1994.

So far the veteran striker has made 36 Series A appearances in a career that spans over two decades scoring 222 goals along the way.

According to the Daily Mail Juventus are also keeping tabs on Papu Gomez at Atalanta after the Argentine international publicly fell out with Gian Piero Gasperini.
