Weston McKennie gives honest opinion on move to Leeds United

Weston McKennie has given his opinion on how he feels about his transfer to Leeds United so far after signing in January.

The American midfielder was the subject of a move to a host of top European clubs amid the scandal of Juventus’ points deduction scandal with McKennie eventually finding a new home, swapping Turin for Yorkshire the day before January’s deadline day.

The 24-year old has featured in both of Leeds’ matches since signing for the club, playing 123 minutes so far and enjoying a full 90 minutes in the side’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Wednesday.

After describing Elland Road as ‘dope’ upon signing for the Premier League side, McKennie has spoken further on how he has settled into life in England.

Now I’m in the Premier League, it’s totally what I expected and wanted,” he told StadiumAstro.

“The banter, the hard tackles, even the talking back with the other players and arguing with the referees. It’s great.”

McKennie only finds himself at Leeds on loan for the time being, but with how he’s spoken of his enjoyment of playing for his new team so far, we could well be seeing the man in a Leeds United shirt come the start of next season.
