Johnny Sexton’s comment to Luke Pearce was picked up on the referee’s mic during their clash with Scotland on Sunday.
Ireland is currently sitting at the top of the Six Nations standings and although a win today won’t hand them the championship it will put them in a great position for next weekend.
The game lived up to expectations producing some high-quality and intense rugby, especially in the first half.
Around the 30-minute mark, one of the Ireland players questioned the referee as to why a Scottish player was not awarded a yellow card, something Pearce was not happy about.
He pulled Sexton aside to let him know that he would not stand for that and the Irishman replied with a cheeky remark which was picked up on the mic.

“Just be careful Johnny. If this player asks for a yellow card, then he might go as well. Okay?” Pearce said.
Then Sexton replied “Okay. We’re nearly there though.”
