Wayne Rooney insists two players must be in Gareth Southgate’s Euros squad

Derby county manager and former England international Wayne Rooney has insisted that Jack Grealish and Phil Foden must be in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2020 squad say Sky Sports.

Both Foden and Grealish have been in sensational form this season and all-time England top goalscorer Wayne Rooney feels the duo must be in Gareth Southgate’s squad.

“I think Phil Foden has been one of the best players in the league this season, I think Guardiola has managed him really well. said Rooney.

“I have spoken to him a couple of times and you can see that he is a level-headed boy.

“He is entertaining to watch. He is scoring and assisting and hopefully he can carry that form on for the national team.

“There is not just him. I think Jack Grealish brings something different for the national team. They have to be in the squad for the Euros and arguably have to play because they are that good.”

Foden took centre stage recently when we was voted ‘Man of the match’ after Manchester City defeated Liverpool 4-1 in the Premier League with Foden scoring the fourth.

Grealish has also been heavily praised for his performances also, even being likened to six time ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi by former Arsenal goalkeeper Emi Martinez.
