Deontay Wilder has sent a message to Tyson Fury ahead of their fight later in the year – calling on the British fighter to get his weight up.
Wilder refused to stand aside after a court ordered Fury to skip the unification bout with Anthony Joshua and fight his American rival for the third time.
As a result, Wilder and Fury will be stepping into the ring for their trilogy fight later in the year, with training and preparations well underway for both fighters.
For Wilder, a one-trick pony, whose only real boxing attribute is the strength in his right hand, the emphasis appears to be on strengthening even further.
Wilder took to Twitter to share a crazed clip of him lifting weights on the bench, during which he forces the bar up to full range of motion, before screaming uncontrollably.
His message to Fury is clear, “you better get your weight up.” Wilder is going about this old fashioned way – be the bigger heavyweight, carry the bigger punch.
You say you’re a semi truck but I’m a freight train. Better get your weight up @Tyson_Fury. #FuryWilder3 #July24 pic.twitter.com/EBM8CSI4RD
