“What a joke” – Tyson Fury claims Deontay Wilder trilogy fight is on with eye-watering fee demanded

Tyson Fury has claimed that his trilogy fight with Deontay Wilder is ON after the American demanded $20M to step aside and let him fight Anthony Joshua, report Sky Sports.

As boxing fans around the world looked forward to Tyson Fury v Anthony Joshua in Saudi Arabia, a fight which would see one of the British heavyweights unify the division, Deontay Wilder stepped in to ruin everyone’s fun.

As is reported by Sky Sports, a U.S court ruled that Fury HAD to fight Wilder for a third time, which threatened to complicate the Fury v Joshua plans, unless Wilder was prepared to step aside and wait for his opportunity.

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua were due to fight in Saudi Arabia this summer.

Unfortunately for everyone involved, Wilder quite clearly has no intention of standing aside. He’s demanded a figure too lubricious to be matched, clearly in an attempt to ensure his trilogy fight with Fury comes to fruition.

Fury is quoted by Sky Sports claiming that Wilder demanded $20M to drop his case for the trilogy fight, with the lineal heavyweight champion now seemingly committed to fighting him again before meeting AJ:

“What a joke the Bronze Bomber has become. Asked for $20m to move over, joker.”

“Looks like I have to [fight him] again.”

There is very little appetite to see this fight again, with Fury winning the first fight, only for the judges scorecards to deny him the win, and then dominating the rematch. What a giant waste of time.
