Thomas Tuchel set to make MAJOR Romelu Lukaku decision ahead of Chelsea vs Liverpool

Thomas Tuchel could be set to AXE Romelu Lukaku from the Chelsea squad as they host Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

Lukaku sparked fury among the Chelsea fanbase in the week after an interview conducted with Sky Italy was released.

The Belgian appeared to question Tuchel’s tactics, revealed that his first choice was to remain at Inter Milan and appeared to angle for a move back to the San Siro.

Tuchel revealed his surprise at the comments during his pre-match press conference and the German could be set to take stern action against his superstar striker.

According to Goal, Lukaku is unlikely to start as Chelsea host Liverpool tomorrow and could even be left out of the squad altogether.

It’s a major gamble from Tuchel ahead of a game which could see Chelsea essentially eliminated from the title race if they are to be defeated on home turf.

Leaving out Lukaku will send a strong message to his players, though. Nobody is bigger than the club – and you can’t get away with murder on his watch.

Tuchel will gain respect in the dressing room if he were to take action against Lukaku. The favours that will do him long-term outweigh the negatives of playing one game without the forward.
