Rodgers name would probably not even be in the running for the job but the former Liverpool boss wanted to make it clear that it’s never going to happen.
“When you manage Liverpool you know the Manchester United job is gone,” Rodgers joked while a guest on talkSPORT.
The 44-year-old went on to say, “I think it is a lot about the players as well. If you look at Manchester United and you look at the players, do they have the players that can excite like what they had before? That is a big part to do with it.”
