In his post match interview after losing 3-0 to West Ham in the Premier League today, Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder revealed that over the weekend midfielder John Fleck was rushed to hospital for tests.
He missed today’s game through injury and will be out for an unspecified amount of time with an illness that is currently unknown but the Scottish midfielder will be a big miss for the club that are struggling so much right now.
The Sheffield boss was all praise of Fleck’s recent performance and says he had recently found a ‘rhythm’ and now this happens. It’s terrible news for both John and the club.
Wilder will now try to find a suitable replacement until Felck is back fit and ready to play with their next two games against Fulham and Premier League champions Liverpool.
"Get a call first thing Saturday morning that John's (Fleck) had to go to hospital, he's been rushed in and is getting tests.
He's been really excellent recently really found a rhythm and then that happens."
