Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez somehow avoided a red card for a horror challenge on Liverpool’s Luis Diaz in the act of conceding the opening goal.
A remarkably brave piece of play from Liverpool’s newest hero saw him nod the ball beyond Sanchez and into the back of the net. However, the training arm, and leg, from the Brighton keeper made sweet contact on the former Porto attacker.
Diaz remained down on the turf, with the goal not being celebrated whatsoever, with the slow-mo replays shown by VAR painting a clearer picture of just how nasty a challenge it was from Sanchez.
The assumption was that he was going to be given his marching orders.
However, SOMEHOW, Sanchez has managed to survive and be allowed to continue on in the contest. Have a look at the incident yourselves – do you think he should have been sent off? Does VAR actually care about protecting players?
