A lot of people on twitter are confused and angry why didn’t all the England and Scotland team take the knee today in the rugby.
It seemed there was confusion before the game, as there was a minute silence for people that were lost due to covid-19 and then there was a mention for ‘no racism in rugby’ but nothing clear, just before the anthems. Anyways as you can expect a lot people on twitter shared their opinion on this matter, see some below;
.@Scotlandteam embarrassing Scots everywhere by largely failing to take a knee for #rugbyagainstracism. English player Billy Vunipola (standing) has explained he opposes #BLM because he believes they “burn churches and bibles”. How will the Scottish players explain themselves? pic.twitter.com/Ln1fyE6767

Disappointing to see so many players fail to take the knee before #ENGvSCO. Even more so for the TV cameras to cut away to an angle where is wasn’t so easy to see, and for the TV commentators to gloss over it. Rugby got a lot to learn from football on this one

#ENGvSCO As a pure neutral I am enjoying this. (Cymraeg ydw i) Also delighted with the traditional England shirts without stupid ads daubed all over the chest. Shame more Scots didn't take the knee .

This ‘take the knee’ campaign started when George Floyd passed away earlier last year over a brutal assault from a police officer in the states and ever since there has been a movement including professional footballers being a lot more vocal on the abuse they receive on a daily bases online for the colour of their skin. Could there be more come for this after today’s rugby?
