The former Manchester United captain wasn’t too impressed with England and West Ham United’s midfielder Declan Rice in the centre of midfield against the Scots. Talking on ITV after the Group D match the former Irish captain said:

“They’re all taking too many touches at the back. Rice is coming back, doing nothing. He’s coming back and giving sidewards passes. Not good enough.”
England were shocking and out played in the centre of midfield by 20 year old Billy Gilmour he really looks like one for the future. England will have to improve an awful lot if they hope to go on and compete to win the tournament, because that performance from the English a lot of teams would be happy to play against.
