AS Roma have made contact over the possibility of signing Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, according to reports in Italy.
Ronaldo re-signed for Manchester United last summer with the intention of delivering the Premier League title. Considering the Red Devils scraped their way into the Europa League, it’s safe to say it was mission failed for CR7.
Though there is no suggestion that the Portuguese superstar is looking to force his way out of Old Trafford this summer, it’s hard to imagine him being content with another season of mediocrity, especially considering his age.
Ronaldo could potentially be tempted away from Man United if the right proposal were to arise. There is one club who’s reportedly interested in freeing him from his United torment – but do they have the pedigree?

Roma too will only be playing Europa League football next year and are not expected to be capable of challenging for the Serie A title, irrespective of who they bring in when the summer transfer window opens.
Jose Mourinho is a world-class coach, but he’s not a miracle worker. You imagine Ronaldo would require further temptation to even consider unearthing his family and leaving Manchester this summer.
