Real Sociedad striker Alexander Sorloth given UNIQUE Player of the Month award

Real Sociedad striker Alexander Sorloth was given one of the most unique awards after winning La Liga’s Player of the Month for January.

The striker scored three goals in January, with Real Sociedad winning three matches and drawing one as the club sit 3rd in the table.

Usually, you’d see a player handed a trophy or perhaps a ball to commemorate their achievement, but not in this instance.

Sorloth was in fact handed a fish as the award for his January efforts, seemingly by one of the club’s chefs, which I can’t imagine he was expecting when he woke up in the morning.

The Norwegian has now scored eight goals this campaign and 20 goals in total for the club, for whom he is currently in a second loan spell with from German side RB Leipzig.
