In the latest Premier League statement released they revealed that

“The Premier League can today confirm that between Monday 4 January and Sunday 10 January, across two rounds of testing, 2,593 players and club staff were tested for COVID-19. Of these, there were 36 new positive tests,”

“Players or club staff who have tested positive will self-isolate for a period of 10 days.

The Premier League refuses to name players, staff or club involved for privacy reasons but there has been outbreaks at multiple clubs so far this season. The first game to be postponed due to a club outbreak was on the 4th of December as Newcastle saw a major spike in positive tests and players and staff were forced to self isolate.

Fulham has also had multiple games postponed due to an outbreak at the club with Manchester City having one of their games postponed due to players returning positive test results on Christmas Day. The Premier League refuses to stop the league even with the recent rise in cases and increased lockdown rules inside England.
