The heads of Premier League clubs met on Thursday and will meet Friday to discuss the potential implications of Manchester City’s financial breaches.

The footballing world was put into a state of shock on Monday when it was announced that Manchester City was being charged with 115 counts of breaching financial rules in a 14-year period.

The investigation was ongoing for four years and could have huge consequences for the Manchester club if they are found guilty.

According to The Sun, Premier League chiefs met up in London on Thursday for ‘crunch talks’ with every side reportedly wanting Manchester City to face the harshest punishment.

They could potentially be kicked out of the Premier League altogether if the findings are proven to be true.

Other punishments include a points deduction, fine, transfer bans, spending limit and being stripped of their Premier League titles during the period in question.

Pep Guardiola has stated that he would potentially walk away from the club if the accusations are true.

Due to the seriousness of the allegations, the verdict won’t be made anytime soon with the case predicted to last 2-4 years.
