Odd Slashed As Brendan Rodgers Closes In On New Job

The Express have reported that odds have been slashed on a return to management for Brendan Rodgers… at Championship side Queens Park Rangers.

The former Liverpool boss is as short as 5/2 with some bookmakers, down from 14/1 previously, behind another ex-Premier League gaffer Nigel Pearson.

Interim manager Neil Warnock and Burton Albion boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink are the other favourites to replace Chris Ramsey on a permanent basis.

Rodgers has also been linked with the Chelsea post, should the axe fall on Jose Mourinho, and was spotted  in London earlier this month, prompting speculation he was on his way to a job interview.

But with Pearson also thought to be in the running for the vacant Fulham post, could it be that Rodgers turns up at Loftus Road instead?

Rodgers does have previous experience at that level, leading Swansea out of it via the 2011 play-offs and guiding Watford to the comfort of 13th despite them slipping into the relegation zone midway through the 2008-09 campaign.
