The 49 year old manager from Northern Ireland Brendan Rodgers has done an excellent job whenever he has gone, be it Swansea, Chelsea, Liverpool, Celtic and even Leicester City even though they are struggling as of late. Rodgers has vast experience of the British game and most in England would agree that he is the best British/Irish manager at this current time in the Premier League.
Rodgers began his career as a defender at Ballymena United, where he stayed until he was signed by Reading at the age of 18, although a knee condition forced him to retire at age 20. He remained at Reading as a coach and then academy director, and continued to play non-league football at Newport, Witney Town and Newbury Town for several years.
After a period travelling around Spain to study coaching methods, he was invited by José Mourinho to leave Reading and join Chelsea as youth manager in 2004, later being promoted to reserve manager in 2006. He is also was also manager of Swansea, the first Welsh team to qualify for the Premier League.
I don’t think anyone at Celtic will forget what he done by winning everything on offer and going unbeaten in the league. Regardless of the opposition it was a massive achievement. Liverpool fans will surely look back on his time with deep regret that he never managed to get that Premier League and reward their greatest ever club captain Steven Gerrard with that all important League medal.
Why should Brendan Rodgers get the Manchester United job rather than PSG manger and former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino who is being hotly tipped for the Old Trafford job. If you haven’t noticed things aren’t going to well for Pochettino at the present moment and he has probably the most talented squad in Europe at his disposal. So far Pochettino has lost the French league and lost the Super Cup final both trophy’s are virtually unlovable if you have the squad and budget PSG have.
Wherever Brendan Rodgers goes, he improves things and make them better, be it Celtic, Liverpool or Leicester City.
Who will be the main man in the Manchester United dugout come next season? From this site you can get the best odds on will it be Rodgers or Pochettino. I’d be putting my money on the Irish man rather than the Argentine if I was a better man. Rodgers deserves another chance with a World famous club like Manchester United. Hopefully he is given the chance and take it with both hands for the sake of him and the Red Devil supporters.
