Is it time for Manchester United to part ways with Erik ten Hag ..?

It’s been another poor season for Manchester United and the results on the pitch are the ultimate measure of a manager’s success, and Manchester United’s performances under Erik ten Hag may not have met the club’s lofty standards.

Despite showing promise at times, the team’s inconsistency and inability to mount a sustained title challenge could be seen as evidence of a lack of progress under his tenure. If the Red Devils aren’t careful they could soon find themselves looking for Championship PlayOff tickets ..

The Red Devils will now face their cross city rivals Manchester City at Wembley stadium next Saturday the 25th of May and if they fail to win that and go another season without sliverware that could spell the end for the 54 year old Dutch man.

But who could Manchester United turn to next if they give Erik ten Hag gets the boot from Old Trafford? The Red Devils have already gone through some top, top mangers and they have all failed to match the high standards set by Sir Alex Ferguson for the best part of 20 plus years when he was managing the red side of Manchester.

Maybe United fans just have to get use to the new norm? The landscape has certainly changed since the time of Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger were going toe to toe on the sidelines.

I think for the most part United fans know that landscape has changed, but has Erik ten Hag improved the team any bit and made them better since last season or have they regressed?

Well as they say, the proof is in the pudding, last year the Red Devils finished third in the table and this season they have finished eighth, despite changing the goalkeeper and getting rid of ‘the problem’ that was Cristiano Ronaldo.

The FA Cup final this weekend is going to be very interesting for a lot of reasons, if Manchester United do manage to pull off a win against a red hot Pep Guardiola side, it could just about save the Dutch mans job at Old Trafford.

But if Manchester City turn up and beat the Red Devils by three or four goals, Erik ten Hag and a whole host of players could find themselves heading for the door ..

This summer is going to be very interesting and Thomas Tuchel is a name that is being touted by a lot of Manchester United fans, could he be the man to return the glory days to Manchester United? Watch this space very closely ..
