Manchester United supporters were attacked in Gdansk last night, with three sustaining minor injuries, reports the BBC‘s Simon Stone.
Man United fans have been given the opportunity to have one European away day this campaign, having watched their side reach the final of the Europa League – from their living rooms, that is.
Gdansk, Poland, will stage this year’s final, a historic and beautiful city, but one which also plays host to Lechia Gdansk, a football team with a notoriously rowdy and passionate fan base.

United fans enjoying a beer on the eve of the game learnt that the hard way, having been attacked by locals in a bar, thankfully not suffering anything beyond minor injuries, reports the BBC‘s Simon Stone.
Three @ManUtd fans suffered minor injuries after locals attacked them in a bar last night. Club staff assisting those who had stuff stolen. Not aware of any issue involving Utd/Villarreal fans and general atmosphere good natured.

There have been countless examples over the years of football fans being targeted on European away days. While it obviously shouldn’t be the case, fans know that they are travelling at their own risk.
In this instance, we can be grateful that nobody was seriously hurt.
