Aston Villa attacker Jack Grealish would reportedly prefer to join Manchester City rather than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United.

That’s according to The Athletic, who claims the English attacking midfielder was a transfer target for the Red Devils last summer.

However, after failing to follow up their interest with a formal bid last summer, United now look set to miss out on Aston Villa’s impressive England international.

Following United’s failed attempts and despite signing a new bumper contract at the end of last season, Grealish, who has enjoyed another fine campaign, looks set to be the subject of speculation once again.

The Athletic claim in an attempt to take advantage of their rivals indecisiveness, Pep Guardiola’s side are now looking to land the talented attacker.

These reports come just days after the Daily Mail claimed the Citizens are preparing to launch a whopping £100m bid for Grealish.

Since emerging as a first-team player for the Midlands club, Grealish has featured in 213 matches, in all competitions, directly contributing to 75 goals, along the way.
