Manchester United ace edging closer to joining Premier League side after ‘positive talks’

Manchester United transfer flop Donny van de Beek could be set to join Crystal Palace on loan.

van de Beek arrived from Ajax with high expectations, having starred for the Dutch giants both domestically and in the Champions League.

However, he has been unable to break into Man United’s starting side, with his opportunities limited under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.

Red Devils supporters are in the dark as to the capabilities of the Netherlands international midfielder, who hasn’t ever been given a run of games to impress.

He may now be forced to look elsewhere in search of regular first-team football in the Premier League.

According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace have held talks with Man United over the possibility of signing van de Beek on loan until the end of the season.

The report claims that negotiations thus far have been positive, with Patrick Vieira’s men becoming increasingly hopeful of concluding a deal.

That would provide van de Beek with the opportunity to show Man United what he’s capable of in the Premier League, while Palace would be securing a £40m asset without splashing out themselves.

It makes sense for all parties involved – whether it will go through before the window slams shut remains to be seen.
