Erik ten Hag has confirmed that Donny van de Beek will miss the rest of the season due to an injury.

Life in the Premier League has been poor for the Dutch midfielder ever since he made the switch over from Ajaz in 2020.

He like so many others failed to really establish himself at Old Trafford, spending the majority of his time on the bench. As a result, he was loaned out to Everton where he again, failed to impress during the six-month spell.

There looked to be light at the end of the tunnel when it was announced that his former manager, Ten Hag would be making the switch to England. If anybody could revitalise his career it was the Dutch coach.

But disaster has struck, van de Beek came off against Bournemouth with a knee injury, which will now rule him out for the rest of the season.

“He is out for the season. Our thoughts are with him. It is terrible when you get a bad tackle and a bad injury during the season.” Ten Hag said.

“Our feelings are with the player and you express that to him.”
