Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s comments ahead of Manchester United’s visit to Leeds United yesterday afternoon came back to bite him.
Solskjaer’s men have essentially cemented their place in next season’s Champions League, while also having little hope of winning the Premier League title. Yesterday’s clash with Leeds United was not the most consequential fixture left on the calendar.
However, while the game had very little riding on it for either side, you’d think, with it being a derby, it would have been an entertaining contest at the very least.

Solskjaer certainly thought it would be, as speaking ahead of kick-off, the Man United boss predicted a goal fest, ruling out the possibility of it being 0-0 when the full-time whistle blew.
Solskjær: “It’s not going to be 0-0, I can guarantee it’s not going to be 0-0. It’s two teams who want to attack and attack as quickly as they can. We know that when we attack they’re very dangerous on the counter-attack [and vice-versa].” #mulive [mutv]

Unfortunately for Ole, these comments have come back to bite him, with neither side able to break the deadlock and the points being shared without a goal being scored. Perhaps he’ll keep his mouth shut next time.
