Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was reportedly offered the opportunity to return to the Premier League – but turned it down.

Solskjaer was determined to make a success of his stint as Manchester United manager. Given more time, perhaps he would’ve, but the problems which run deep at Old Trafford resulted in his dismissal.

As you can imagine, the Norwegian was utterly devastated to have lost what was his dream job. It’s no surprise that he didn’t deem himself ready to make an immediate return to the management game.

According to VG in Norway, Solskjaer has been offered multiple opportunities to return to the dugout since his dismissal, with one of the job proposals understood to be from a Premier League club.

However, he has made it unequivocally clear that he was not ready to return – that appears to have now changed. VG claim that Solskjaer would be open to the idea of taking a job next season.

It remains to be seen whether he’d hold out for a Premier League opportunity or would look to build his profile abroad. We will have to wait and see how this one plays out in the months ahead.
