Romelu Lukaku has appeared to refer to his time as a Manchester United player as ‘sh*t’.
Lukaku is one of the best strikers on the planet, with Chelsea fortunate enough to have the fully-developed, world-class version of him at their disposal.
However, he wasn’t always that player. The Belgian’s time at Man United will be remembered as a great disappointment for all parties involved.

Lukaku was unable to play his best football at Old Trafford, and clearly doesn’t have too many fond memories of his time with the Red Devils.
Speaking candidly about his move to Chelsea this summer, Lukaku referred to the time that former employers Inter Milan rescued him from his Man United torment.
Romelu Lukaku to HLN: “When Chelsea made their third offer I knew it was serious and I was no longer with my head in Milan. Chelsea offered €110m plus Zappacosta, but Inter said no. So I told Inzaghi: Inter pulled me out of shit but I wanna leave only because of Chelsea” 🔵 #CFC pic.twitter.com/aGBD7NzTvj

It’s unlikely that he had many admirers left in the Man United fanbase, but if he did, they probably won’t be too keen on him after reading these comments.
Ultimately, Lukaku and Man United were not right for each other, so going their separate ways was the right decision. There need not be any lingering animosity…
