Lando Norris picked up his second victory of the current F1 season after he won the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday.
Norris picked up a pole position on Saturday, and drove flawlessly right from the start to secure a memorable win, although the race was hardly entertaining.
With that victory, Norris has closed the gap with his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri to three points. Piastri finished third in the race, while Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished second.

Norris shouted, “Monaco baby!” over his team radio after winning the race, though he stole the phrase from Jenson Button, who won the Monaco GP back in 2009.
In the year of his championship triumph, Button, after winning the Monaco GP, ahead of his Brawn team-mate Rubens Barrichello, shouted “Monaco baby” to celebrate the victory. Norris did the same 16 years later.
The McLaren driver quickly apologised to Button after the race.
“It feels amazing,” Norris said, as quoted by The Express. “It’s a long, gruelling race, but good fun. We could push for much of the race. The last quarter was stressful with [Charles] Leclerc behind and Max [Verstappen] ahead, but we won in Monaco.
“This is what I dreamed of when I was a kid, so I achieved one of my dreams. I think it was you [talking to Button], I saw you in front of my car before the start and I thought, if JB’s here now… he’s my good luck charm.
“Is ‘Monaco, baby’, yours? I apologise!”
Race leader Verstappen waited until the final lap, in case there was a yellow or red flag, but had to take the second of his mandatory pit stops, a new rule brought in for Monaco this year. It allowed Norris to win the race.
