Jurgen Klopp has given an update on Alexis Mac Allister’s fitness after the Argentine midfielder came off injured midweek.

The Reds have been hit with multiple injuries right before the busiest time of the year as they prepare for several crucial games.

With the news that defender Joel Matip is likely out for the rest of the season, Liverpool fans will be devastated to hear that Mac Allister could also miss some upcoming games.

The midfielder suffered an injury during his side’s 2-0 win against Sheffield United on Tuesday night and according to Klopp’s comments, he ‘doesn’t expect him’ to be ready for this weekend’s clash with Crystal Palace.

“Macca doesn’t look good, so we have to see day by day,” Klopp said in his press conference via the BBC.

“It’s not that serious, but in the period of the year if you are out for five days, it’s 12 games pretty much.”

Liverpool also has two titanic clashes in December, first a game against Manchester United before they welcome Arsenal to Anfield on the 23rd.

But the German manager delivered some good news and hinted that Alisson could make his return against Palace.
