Bruno Fernandes is happy with Manchester United’s new signing, Marcel Sabitzer but claims he will be unhappy if he doesn’t start every game.
The Portuguese midfielder has refound the form that made United splash the cash three years ago. He has been the creative maestro in Erik ten Hag’s side this season and has been crucial with the lack of a real number nine up until now.
The Red Devils were dealt a massive blow when Christian Eriksen went off injured against Reading in the FA Cup last week but acted quickly and managed to get a suitable replacement just in time.
They secured the signing of Marcel Sabitzer on a loan deal until the end of the season.
In a recent interview, Fernandes reaffirmed just how competitive he and the rest of the squad is.
‘I will be unhappy if I don’t start, if I don’t play games all 90 minutes, the manager knows that,’ said Fernandes.
‘I’m fully fit, I’m available for the team, and whatever I have to do it’s no problem. Not only me, but everyone wants to play a full 90 minutes every game.
The midfielder revealed that he is delighted with the new signing.
‘He’s a good player, a really good midfielder,’ said the Portugal playmaker. ‘He’ll give us more options in the midfield while Christian is injured. He’s another one who’ll make it difficult for everyone in the team to have a place.
‘Even for him, he knows he has to push himself to the highest level to be playing for us now and everyone that is starting – for example me, Casemiro and Fred – we know it costs a lot to have a place in the team and we have another one fighting for that position so we have to give our best.’
