Graham Potter says he prefers when VAR makes mistakes 🤔

The Chelsea manager defended VAR during his press conference on Friday, claiming that football would be boring without it.

Since its implementation, VAR has divided the footballing world with the majority if not 99% of fans against the use of the technology.

And it’s hard not to argue with this when week after week we witness it make jaw-dropping errors, every team in the league at some point would have been burned by its mistakes this season.

Including Chelsea who was recently denied a handball against West Ham after Tomas Soucek blatantly handled the ball inside the box.

But despite this, Graham Potter is still in favour of the technology claiming football would be boring without it.

‘I have no problem with VAR necessarily,’ he said during his press conference.

‘I don’t think I would have had it in the first place because I think I’m a bit of a romantic traditionalist. I quite like that the referee and the linesman are there to make a decision and whatever mistake happens, happens. I think that’s good.

‘But I understand that we want to make it so that all the decisions are correct. Then I go… do we really want every decision to be correct?

‘Because there’s an element of human error, there’s an element of that that happens in a game for us all to talk about and get annoyed about – it’s part of the game.

‘I think it would be boring, are we going towards eventually computers are gonna make the decision?’
