Graeme Souness believes that Marcel Sabitzer should’ve been sent off after awful tackle😬

Marcel Sabitzer was very lucky not to receive his marching orders after putting in a brutal tackle on Wout Faes on Sunday afternoon.

The Austrian midfielder joined the Red Devils in January as a last-minute replacement for Christian Eriksen who suffered a devastating injury in the FA Cup.

With vital experience in the Bundesliga playing for Bayern Munich, his acquisition was a very smart move but he put in an awful challenge against Leicester and should’ve been sent off.

At least that’s what Graeme Souness thinks as he gave his verdict on the tackle at halftime in the Sky Sports studio.

“100%. I think this is a red card, for several reasons,” he said.

“Sabitzer has turned side on to him. If you are going to ‘do’ someone, that is how you do it. You turn side on.

“If he makes contact with the ball, what’s he going to do with the ball? He’s looking for the player.

“I don’t care what some referee who has never played the game says. That is a sending off. That is dangerous play.

“If that’s not dangerous play, what is?”
