Leon Edwards knocked out Kamaru Usman to become only the second British UFC champion in history.
Edwards is an undeniably skilled mixed martial artist but has had a torrid run of bad luck over the years.
The opportunity to fight Kamaru Usman for the UFC Welterweight title is something the Birmingham-born would not have wanted to waste.
Thankfully for Edwards and the whole of the UK, he was able to do himself justice in the octagon and caused a MAJOR upset in the process.
Usman, the reigning and defending champion, was the firm favourite heading into the fight, but Edwards got the job done with a vicious kick upstairs.
With just one minute remaining in the fifth round of the contest, Edwards threw what looked like a rather innocuous head kick.
However, after Usman fell to the floor and the referee waved the contest off, it was pretty clear the extent of the damage that was done.
Britain now have only a second EVER UFC champion – well done, Leon!
