Donny van de Beek told to ‘pack his bags’ if he’s excluded from Manchester City clash

According to Sport Witness, Dutch columnist Valentijn Driessenhas – who writes for De Telegraaf – has reportedly suggested that Van De Beek should ‘pack his bags straight away’ if he is snubbed in Manchester United’s upcoming derby clash with Manchester City.

Van de  Beek joined United on August 30th 2020 from Ajax on a five-year deal worth a reported £35 million plus £5 million in add-ons.

Since his arrival at Old Trafford the 23-year-olds opportunities have been minimal with the midfielder only making 19 appearances so far scoring just a solitary goal.

With Euro 2020 scheduled for this summer first team opportunities are vital for international players who will be hoping to book their place in their countries squad for the tournament.

United’s last three Premier League clashes have seen Van de Beek start on the bench and he hasn’t been in the starting eleven for Olé Gunnar Solskjaer’s side since United’s 2-0 victory over Everton in the League Cup in December 2020.

United welcome Manchester City to Old Trafford on Wednesday for their League Cup semi-final clash in a game that according to Dutch media may be vital in determining the future of the Netherlands international.
