Deontay Wilder v Andy Ruiz Jr. may just be the heavyweight boxing super-fight we didn’t know we needed but the way things are going it may on the cards for 2021.

Andy Ruiz Jr has started a new training camp with new trainer Eddy Reynoso has gotten the boxing world thinking who will he fight?

In 2019 the Mexican-American was propelled to overnight superstardom when he floored Anthony Joshua four times until the fight was stopped in round seven and Ruiz claimed Joshua’s belts.

His success was short lived though as by the time the contractually-obligated to fight Joshua again under prepared, overweight and as a result lost to Joshua.

Deontay Wilder had a similar fall from grace when he lost his belts to Tyson Fury in 2019 after being a longtime champion that had reigned since the start of 2015.

The two are badly seeking redemption and trying to regain their reputation and the pair could be on track to meet each other towards the end of the year as they both fight under Al Haymon’s PBC.

A win for either man would throw them right back into the heavyweight elite category and set the victor up for possible redemption when they face the winner of Joshua vs Fury.

Wilder v Ruiz Jr. makes a whole lot of sense and it may just be the heavyweight boxing match we didn’t know we were looking for.
