According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo earns more money per year than four Serie A teams.
Ronaldo earns £28 million-a-year in wages at Juventus and he is understood to be on around £540,000-a-week in Turin after he joined from Real Madrid in 2018.
Ronaldo’s £28 million is reportedly equal to or more than the wage bill of four teams that compete in Serie A.
Shockingly, Serie A clubs Udinese, Hellas Verona, Spezia and Crotone have the same or a lower squad bill than what Ronaldo earns on his own – showing the clear financial disadvantage some clubs are at.
The Portuguese forward’s wages is four times that of the second highest earner in the league who happens to be Ronaldo’s team-mate – Matthijs de Ligt – who is on £7.2 million per year. (£138k-per-week)
Juventus have the highest wage bill in Serie A with salaries costing the Old Lady a whopping £214 million per year.
Inter Milan have the second highest at £135 million per year, followed by Roma on £101 million, Napoli with £95 million and AC Milan forking out £81 million.
