‘Notorious’ Conor McGregor is set for a lightweight showdown against Dustin ‘The Diamond’ Poirier with the winner hotly tipped for a title rematch against Khabib Nurmagomedov.
The PPV’s main-event is scheduled to start at 3am (UK time) on Sunday morning with the prelims and early prelims kicking-off a few hours before.
However, despite the entire fight card featuring some mouth-watering match-ups, all eyes will undoubtedly be on the star-studded main-event.
McGregor, who is arguably the sport’s biggest name, will be facing his chances against Poirier after already having a win over the American.
The pair fought all the way back in 2014 in a bout which saw the Irishman claim a first round knockout victory.
However, since facing off seven years ago, both fighters have grown in ability with Sunday morning’s bout expected to be a much closer encounter.
According to a recent report from the Independent, regardless of the fight’s outcome, both fighters are set for a bumper pay-day.
It has been reported that Poirier will pick up £730,000 plus a share of the revenue earned from on-the-night PPV buys.
Elsewhere, his opponent McGregor is expected to earn himself a whopping £3.66m plus a share of the revenue earned from on-the-night PPV buys.
Not a bad night’s work, eh?
