Chelsea linked with re-signing former attacker in £90M deal

Chelsea are reportedly keen on re-signing Romelu Lukaku this summer, having accepted that Erling Haaland will move elsewhere.

That’s according to The Sun, who report that Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Haaland, the most coveted player on the planet at current, is considered “out of reach”.

Chelsea would have loved to have added Haaland to their attack, with their strikers at current misfiring, but the competition and extraordinary finances involved make the deal look a little implausible.

Romelu Lukaku has netted 27 goals so far this campaign.

Not to worry, though, for as per The Sun, Chelsea are lining up another of the world’s best strikers, one whose first move to Europe’s top five leagues was to Stamford Bridge in 2011 – Romelu Lukaku.

The Sun claim that Chelsea are prepared to swallow their pride and re-sign Lukaku in a deal worth a potential £90M, in order to provide Thomas Tuchel with a striker worthy of spearheading his attack.

Chelsea would be a force if Lukaku were to arrive. Though, you have to think Inter Milan would be reluctant to sell considering how crucial a figure the Belgian has become at the San Siro.
