A quite remarkable report published by the Evening Standard claims that Chelsea have been offered both Cristiano Ronaldo AND Neymar.
Chelsea are under new ownership, following the most expensive sale of a sporting franchise in history. There is, obviously, an expectation that they will be big players in the transfer market this summer.
The Blues are yet to bring anyone in, while Tottenham, Arsenal and Man City have all been busy, but there appears to be plenty in the pipeline, with Todd Boehly understood to be leading the charge.
Two names that Chelsea fans wouldn’t have expected to be linked with this summer are superstars Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar, yet here we are, reporting on their potential interest in BOTH.
According to the Evening Standard, the Blues have been offered the opportunity to bring in both of them, with Boehly having met with Jorge Mendes already and Neymar being keen on a Premier League move.
Whether Chelsea will pursue their alleged interest in either player, let alone both, is not entirely clear at this point in time, but Chelsea fans will be delighted to see the club linked with players of that calibre.
The report does note that Thomas Tuchel is currently prioritising the acquisition of Raheem Sterling from Manchester City. Where the world champions go from there remains to be seen.
