Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele has spoken out publicly on his admiration for Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel.
Dembele, 23, came within touching distance of joining Manchester United during last summer’s transfer deadline day.
The move, as we now know, fell through in the final hours, leaving the Frenchman forced to continue with Barcelona.
However, speaking recently to BeIN Sports (as quoted by France Football), the 23-year-old has opened the door for a possible switch to Premier League giants Chelsea.
“Like I said, Thomas Tuchel really convinced me, he is my favourite manager,” Dembele said. “With Thomas Tuchel I played a bit more on the right side at the beginning of the season, and then I was moved more centrally, in the 10 position, sometimes even in the midfield three you see.
“He told me to stay a bit more central, have an espresso as he used to say to me, the ball will come to you and then you will go.
“It would have been hard to leave Dortmund if Tuchel had stayed.”
