Cristiano Ronaldo could have faced a sentence of ’99 lashes’ if he ever steps foot in Iran after he hugged and kissed an Iranian woman on the cheek.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, a number of Iranian lawyers have filed claims against the Portuguese attacker after a picture emerged of Ronaldo with painter, Fatima Hamami.

The picture was taken in September when the 38-year-old travelled to Iran with Al Nassr for the Asian Champions League.
Hamami, who is ’85 per cent paralysed’ gave Ronaldo a picture while he was visiting and he reportedly kissed her on the cheek and gave her a hug.
This has angered some lawyers because of the Iranian law that classifies touching a married woman as adultery.
The Iranian Embassy has clarified the situation with a tweet letting everyone know that this possibility will not become a reality.

I’m sure Cristiano and his family will be relieved!
