Tyron Woodley has confirmed there is a rematch clause in his Jake Paul fight agreement, with the former UFC champion open to the idea of a trilogy.
Woodley suffered a humiliating split decision defeat to YouTuber Jake Paul when the pair fought earlier in the year. After Paul pursued a fight with Tommy Fury for the December 18th date, Woodley must have thought he’d missed out on a rematch.
In an enormous stroke of luck for the former UFC champ, Fury was forced to pull out of the bout after suffering a broken rib. Paul immediately gave Woodley a call and got him booked in as a replacement.
Taking on Woodley again is a risk from Paul, make no mistake. You would like to think that he has learnt from his mistakes in the first fight and will come out swinging when the bell rings on Saturday night.

Paul’s team are obviously wary of that, with Woodley having confirmed (quoted by TMZ) that there is a rematch clause in the contract – and one that he would like to see them use:
“Of course I’m down for the trilogy. Yes, it is a rematch clause in there. I’m going to put that on him.”
“After I knock you out, Mr Betting Man, are you going to run or are you going to try to fight somebody else? Or are you going to come and get this work again?”
It’s not unusual for the A-side to have a rematch clause – just in case. We will have to wait and see if Paul needs to use it.
