Watch Peter O’Mahony gives his take on Jack McGrath’s back row play

Peter O’Mahony has said he is pleased with Ireland’s defensive resilience, despite losing their final World Cup warm-up match to England today.

England scored two tries against Ireland in Twickenham, and had two more disallowed, as Joe Schmidt’s men slumped to their second defeat in the run-up to the tournament.

O’Mahony recognised that England put the Irish defence under a lot of pressure in today’s Test.

The Ireland flanker said: “We were under pressure from a good side who were attacking very well, retaining ball very well.

“They scored some quality tries, but I was impressed with some of the defensive resilience that we showed.”

The Munster man also had time to compliment Leinster’s Jack McGrath on his stint in the back row towards the end of the match.

O’Mahony said: “Jack’s a quality player, I don’t know if he’s a back rower, but he’s well able to get around the park.”
