Irish boxing fans were disappointed to hear that World Champion Andy Lee was not going to defend his title in his hometown.
Promoters cancelled the highly anticipated bout in Thomond Park, and Lee tweeted his disappointment at the news.

The WBO Middleweight world champion is now even more determined to retain his title.

The fight against Billy Joe Saunders will still go ahead, with a press conference at 1.25pm to announce a triple world title bill at the Manchester Arena on October 10.
Andy Lee is expected to speak about the fight at the press conference.
