The 30 year old Dutch defender and former Celtic now Liverpool centre back was speaking on the official Liverpool website and recalls his first game after that horrific injury he sustained against Everton almost a year ago.

“I remember the moment when we were ready to come on and the manager came up to me and gave me a hug,” van Dijk told the club’s website.
“I could’ve shed a tear there, that was how emotional I was. It was the relief thing, you work so hard for this moment.
“It was a special day for me, my family and the people who work with me.”
