Since joining Dortmund in January 2020 Erling Haaland has netted a staggering 41 goals in 42 games, and laying on eight assists.
The Norway international is currently average a goal involvement every 67.9 minutes and he has defenders across Europe shaking in their boots.
It seems nobody is able to stop the Norwegian striker but Liverpool fans believe there is one man capable of passing the ‘Erling Haaland test’ and that man is Virgil van Dijk.
A video from Liverpool’s clash with Red Bull Salzburg in 2019 has resurfaced and it shows van Dijk putting 19-year-old Haaland in his place.
Haaland had predicted he would score all three goals in a 3-1 victory as the teenager was full of confidence after scoring an outrageous 28 goals in 21 matches.
Unfortunately for Haaland, van Dijk had his number and the Dutch powerhouse put his mark on the Norwegian early on when he beat him in a foot race and left the teenager flat out on the turf.

Van Dijk is currently out of action due to injury after he picked up a season ending injury during the Merseyside Derby earlier in the season.
The Dutch defender has recently returned to Liverpool after undergoing a rigorous rehabilitation program in Dubai.
The 29-year-old is not expected to compete again this season but he has been selected in both of Jurgen Klopp’s squads for the Premier League and Champions League should he make an early recovery.
